FilmFinder

"A mobile application for pre-driving teens retrieving movie information to make plans with friends"

with Roy Shin, Scott Sykora, and Gabi Uribe.

FilmFinder is an application to help people on-the-go find movies that they can watch at home, through free and paid services they already use. FilmFinder is for phones with physical keypads and jumping highlight navigation.

Contribution

I created the complete phone screen animations and helped define the design language, in addition to working with the group on persona, concept, and scenario development.
Indicator lights immediately surface movie availability information. Green is available in the user's subscribed services, yellow in the user's friends' services, and red in unsubscribed services. A dollar sign indicates an additional service fee.
FilmFinder presents information as it is relevant to a movie. Jon Faveau's director biography in Iron Man 2 is abbreviated with suggestions related to Iron Man 2, as opposed to his full biography which provides more general information.

Selected Process

We began our process with the creation of our persona, Charlie Baker. Keeping his needs in mind, we worked through scenarios of use to define the features of FilmFinder, which we then fully mapped before working through the fully rendered prototype.
